A brief history of daza.info, in all it's incarnations:

A Brave New World

daza.info first reared it's ugly head late in the Year 2004 (September, 16th to be precise). As a forum, it represented many things for many people, a place to talk and mix amongst friends, one to discuss homework and other facets of schooling life, and one to ignite the fires of rebellion against a common foe, plan attack and counter attack and finally bitch when you got caught. And vent anger and hatred to the people you didn't like.

As a forum, daza.info was quickly welcomed into the hearts and minds of many in our year. It completed us, made us whole. It was something we had been lusting after, without ever realising it. And with credentials like these, it was no wonder that daza.info's popularity grew exponentially within it's first few months of conception.

This popularity was perhaps, best embodied by the BBQ of December 2004, organized nearly entirely through daza.info. As a BBQ, it was OK (the food ranged from raw to charcoal, with very little in between) but it showed our ability to overcome the boundaries imposed by the cliques which our year consists of the F-Block group, the Group Behind F-Block, the Oval Groups (The Crew) as well as the B-Block girls and the Walkway group (who have their own sub-group, The Bastards) .

The Controversy

daza.info has been the subject of several administrative investigations that dating back as late as November, 2004, contuing till Decemeber 2005. The investigations was a result of the notorious "Fight Club" incidents that caused a strong stir within the local community, as well as many other incidents (Zabell incident, the Jongsma incident). Investigations have ceased.

A civil law suit has been taken out against the operator and owner of the website, Darryl Brown. This follows after a student (Candi) at a local school (SHHS - see "Fuck SHHS") filed a harassment complaint. There are no more details available at the present time, as per request of the daza.info lawyer.

Action may be taken against Smith's Hill High School in the near future for copyright violations. November 9 (or thereabouts), 2004 is considered to be the date that the very first attack against daza.info from the SHHS administration occurred. At school that day, a request from the principal (Ms. Mitchell) for the site to be closed immediately was given to the then administrator, Darryl Brown.

This obviously, was blatantly ignored. Subsequent attacks have followed since, the latest being that of December 2005 when Ms Mitchell sent the request again, after only just realising she had been ignored the first time. Sources claim that approximately 300 pages of copyrighted content from daza.info was printed off and distributed, a direct violation of the sites copyright statement, which is as follows;

All content included on this web site, including text, graphics, logos, buttons, icons, and images, is the property of http://daza.info, its licensors or its content suppliers, and is protected by U.S., Australian and international copyright and trademark laws. The compilation of all content on this web site is the exclusive property of http://daza.info and is protected by U.S., Australian and international copyright laws.

On the 11th of November, 2004, a document was given to Ms. Mitchell outlining the sites disclaimer, policies, rules and regulations. The above article of text was included.

This later lead to the discovery of the illegal F-Block Armoury and included things such as death ball, death leg, the knuckle duster(s), the many flick knives and other such items... not to mention the destructive nature of bin fires conducted within the school grounds.

What is Wiki?

Basically a place where people write articles in relation to certain things. The articles can be edited by members in accordance to what may have been misleading information, incorrect information or otherwise.

Gabrielle Bell suggested that although "any bunch of kids can build up a nest of colloquial messages to one another, only the elite community of SHHS can produce a quality yet unsensored year book. The daza.info Wiki comes with the structure of a moderated year book, yet the freedom of the open playground."
